N.C. Wyeth (Newell Convers Wyeth) was an American artist born on October 22, 1882, in Needham, Massachusetts. He was one of the most successful illustrators of the 20th century, known for his bold and dramatic illustrations for books and magazines. Wyeth's father, Andrew Wyeth, was also a successful illustrator and encouraged his son's artistic pursuits.
Wyeth studied under several notable artists, including Howard Pyle, who became a mentor and a significant influence on his work. Pyle's instruction emphasized the importance of storytelling and the use of dynamic composition, both of which became hallmarks of Wyeth's style.
